4 Months

Oh how we love our big 4 month old boy! We cannot imagine life without him and feel so blessed by the Father to have such a happy, healthy baby.

Knox is now 14 lbs, 9 oz and 25 inches long. He is almost too long for his clothes even though they are plenty wide! He is learning all kinds of new things and has become really good at grabbing anything he can get his hands on - toys, hair, necklaces, and his favorite - toes!! Everything he grabs goes straight to his mouth if he can get it there. This is making his monthly pictures a little more difficult as you can see from the pictures above! His favorite toy is a little frog lovie that his Nana & Papa bought him. When he takes naps in his swing he falls asleep snuggling with it and it is the sweetest thing!

 

Knox can also hold his head up really well now. He loves to be sitting up or standing when you are holding him in your lap, and can even sit for short periods of time in his Bumbo. It cracks me up when we try to take him out because his chubby little thighs get stuck in the leg holes.

In mid October (October 17 to be exact) Knox rolled over for the first time. He is getting to the point where he rolls over every time we lay him down, and then cries in frustration when he can't roll back. We have begun the transition out of the swaddle at nap time and bedtime. The swaddle sure was nice while it lasted!

As far as his features, Knox's eyes are still blue and his hair is still pretty dark, although it is definitely falling out! That tuft of hair that sticks up straight on top of his head is getting thinner and thinner.

As far as personality, he still has a happy temperament, and loves to smile, giggle, and coo as long as he isn't tired or hungry. We are often told by other people what a good baby he is and we couldn't agree more!

We started putting Knox in his crib at night, but he usually ends up in his bassinet next to my side of the bed after his 3 am feeding, just because Mommy is too lazy to get up and take him back to his crib. Every once in a while he will sleep through the night without waking up to eat, and even had 3 nights in a row recently, but it's definitely not the norm.

Knox is now a regular attendee in Bible class. He has behaved himself very well according to his teachers, except for last week when he sprayed Ms. Dana during a diaper change!

Knox got to attend his first Aggie sporting event (a women's soccer game) this month. He seemed to enjoy it until the Aggies scored and the crowd made a lot of noise - then he had a major melt down! Mommy got him settled down and then he slept the rest of the time he was there. He'll just have to get used to all the loudness because it definitely will not be his last Aggie game!
