Knox has changed so much this month! He is BUSY, and learning new skills daily! He weighs about 20 pounds and has moved up to
6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
He is still a pretty good sleeper, taking 2 naps during the day and
sleeping for 10 hours consistently at night (although over the past week he has
developed a bad habit of waking up in the night and screaming because he wants
to be in our bed – we usually comply).
He is loving lots of solid foods – yogurt mixed with fruit, zucchini,
broccoli, peas, carrots, sweet potato, prunes – pretty much anything you put in
his mouth he will eat. His
favorite things to play with are non-toy objects such as measuring cups, funnels,
empty cans, hairbrushes, remote controls, phones, cords (we don’t let him play with those but they are his number one target in the living room), etc.
New skills Knox has mastered during his 7th month include:
- Feeding himself a bottle
- Army crawling (super fast!)
- Licking his upper lip (He does this a lot!)
- Waving “bye-bye” (he did this for about a week but refuses to do it anymore)
- Sitting himself up from his belly
- Pulling up (new as of 3 days ago)
- Causing a wrestling match when changing his diaper or putting on clothes
Knox also cut his first teeth this month – 2 little pearly
whites on the bottom. They are
still hard to see but you can definitely feel them. They didn’t seem to bother him much when they came in – he was
a little bit fussy, and woke up more often during the night for a day or two.
Some of my favorite things about Knox this month:
- The way he starts crawling as fast as he can to get to me when I pick him up after work
- His simultaneous snort and scrunched up smile (I have been trying to get this on video but the little stinker stops the minute I hold up my phone!)
- He will sit on my lap and let me read 3 books to him before he wants to do something else
- How he recognizes his Daddy’s voice and gets excited when he comes home from work before he can even see him
- His contagious giggles
- The way he splashes like a maniac in the bath tub and gets me soaking wet
- His hair that sticks straight up on top of his head like it did when he was a newborn
- He still cannot ride in the car for longer than 10 minutes without falling asleep
- The way he pats things several times in a row with his left hand – including the shoulders of people holding him (his Bible class teachers say he pats the table when he’s ready for his turn to hold something)

So sweet! I wish I could see these things in person!
