First Christmas

Knox got to have 2 Christmases this year - one with the Anderson side of the family, and one with the Gregersen side. We celebrated Christmas on the Saturday after Thanksgiving with the Andersons at Nana and Papa's house. The day started with cinnamon rolls for breakfast (Knox will have to wait until next year to enjoy those), then stockings, then presents. Knox got lots of gifts, some for him to enjoy now and some for when he gets a little bit older. His biggest gift was an airplane rocking horse that fits perfectly with his airplane themed room. In the evening we had beef tenderloin for Christmas dinner, then the brothers and Natasha headed to the Aggie football game. 

We spent Christmas day with my side of the family at my parents' home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. John, Leah, Jacob & Thaine came too and it was our first time to all be together at my parents' Missouri home. Our time there was quite eventful - John had a stomach virus on Sunday, so David and I took Knox and spent the night in a hotel in Springfield on Sunday night. Monday(Christmas Eve), John was better, but we had to take my dad to the ER after his throat started closing up from having an allergic reaction to avocado. By the time he go to the ER he was better from a dose of Benadryl he had taken at home, so they checked him out and sent him home. We then ate dinner and opened presents before going to bed, and then opened stockings in the morning. Knox was able to rip the paper off packages and pull things out of his stocking with some assistance. He got several books, including a baby Bible, blocks and a boat bath toy, a couple of hats, socks, a pair of loafers, pacifiers, and teethers. After stockings, mom hosted a brunch for all the relatives in town - Ralph & Carol and Lana, Mark, and their 14 month old, Hannah. Lori, Monte, Nathan and Ruth joined us a few hours later when they got to town from Tulsa. Shortly after getting home we got word that Mark was throwing up, then Hannah, then Lana. We quickly disinfected the house - washed toys and wiped down every surface. The next day John and Leah left with the boys and we made a trip to Springfield where Knox had his first trip to Bass Pro. David got the stomach bugthat night and so we had to cut our trip short and head home on Thursday. Despite all the sickness and medical emergencies, we had a great time being with my family whom we don't get to see often. It was definitely a Christmas we won't forget!
