Time is flying and our little man has already been with us for half a year! It makes me sad that he is quickly growing out of the baby phase, but at the same time I love that he gets more and more fun with each passing month. He now weighs 16 pounds, 12 ounces and is 27 inches long, so he's right on track with doubling his newborn weight (7 lbs, 13 oz) by 6 months.
One of the biggest changes for Knox this month was the introduction of solid foods. We started out with rice cereal, bananas, and sweet potatoes. He has also had prunes and peas. So far we haven't fed him anything he didn't like. In between spoonfuls (especially bananas) he squeals, grunts, or kicks for more.

Knox has become a professional grabber - he can grab anything close to him with lightning fast speed. One Sunday he managed to get his fingers into the communion cups as the tray passed. He will grab your hair, nose, mouth, any button or shiny embellishment on your shirt, and the food off your plate. I have to keep his nails short because he can draw blood! He loves to have something in his hand that he can put in his mouth. If there's nothing to grab he will settle for putting his whole hand in his mouth and gnawing on that for awhile.
Knox can now sit up by himself for short periods of time. He is getting better by the day, but is still a little wobbly and will face plant if you're not careful.
Knox is now completely weaned and gets all his meals from the bottle. If he spots a bottle, it's all over - he locks his eyes on that bottle and starts kicking his legs and fussing until you give it to him. He is starting to sleep through the night without waking up to eat, but won't stay asleep unless he is in bed snuggled up next to me. That is a bad habit that we are going to have to break pronto! Speaking of bad habits, Knox still loves to sleep ON HIS FACE! We try to turn his head to the side and he puts it right back into the mattress. Another reason he is still sleeping in bed with us.
Knox had a new friend and another boy cousin born this month. Lincoln, the Grove's son was born on the 19th of December, and Reed, Michael & Natasha's son was born today (December 28th). We know Knox will have lots of fun growing up with those two!
